LICENCE

Prior to start of hire we will require sight of a full driving licence and a second form of identification such as a utility bill or passport.

INSURANCE

All vehicles are hired with Sutton Maddock fully comprehensive insurance or insurance provided by the hirer. Valid evidence of fully comprehensive insurance cover is required if customers are using their own cover.

Driving restrictions do apply for 7.5 ton vehicles. All hirers for 7.5 ton vehicles will require Class C1 entitlement on their licence. If being used for business purposes/rental or reward an operator’s licence will be required. All Sutton Maddock 7.5 ton vehicles are fitted with digital tachographs.

DRIVING RESTRICTIONS

Drivers can be insured by Sutton Maddock with a minimum insurance excess (your liability for damage if you have an accident that is your fault) of £100. Alternatively drivers/companies can provide their own fully comprehensive insurance cover providing this is acceptable to Sutton Maddock.

Excess Protection Insurance to cap your excess liability is available for complete peace of mind when hiring certain vehicles and will drop excess liability to £100 for cars and vans. Please ask for details at time of booking.

Our basic driving restrictions are as follows:

AGE

Cover can be provided for drivers aged between 21 and 75 years of age.

DRIVERS AGED 25 AND OVER

Must have held a full driving licence for at least 12 months No more than two fault accidents in last three years

DRIVERS AGED 21 TO 25
  • Must have held a full driving licence for at least 12 months
  • Licence must be free from any endorsements
  • Must have accident free record
  • Drivers aged 21 – 25 may be subject to increased excess liability
CARS/MINIBUSES

Drivers aged 21 to 25 are not permitted to drive minibuses, MPVs or 7.5 ton vehicles on Sutton Maddock insurance cover. If you are uncertain on any of our moving vans for hire, please call the office on 01952 730 251 and we’d be happy to help.
